Opis:

Gdzieś na przedmieściach USA żyją obok siebie kobiety, których jedyną pracą jest zajmowanie się domem. Na pierwszy rzut oka wydają się szczęśliwe, ale gdy przyjrzy się im bliżej ich życie nie jest tak doskonałe, jak się wydaje... Pewnego dnia jedna z piątki przyjaciółek – Mary Alice Young popełnia samobójstwo, pozostałe żony postanawiają dowiedzieć się dlaczego...

Bohaterkami serialu są:

Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) - rozwiedziona kobieta z nastoletnią córką;

Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross) - idealna żona, matka i sąsiadka;

Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria) - żona bogatego przedsiębiorcy;

Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman) - matka czwórki rozwydrzonych i nieznośnych bachorów oraz żona męża, który jest w ciągłych rozjazdach;

Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) - z pozoru szczęśliwa żona i mężatka, która popełnia samobójstwo i od pierwszych scen staje się narratorką w poszczególnych odcinkach.
